Audio Conferencing Tips
Are you planning on a company wide conference call or a call between a few key stakeholders? Whatever the case may be, following the simple tips below will ensure a productive all.
Moderator - Choose a call moderator or leader. Your call will not be successful if it is a free for all. Your moderator should develop an agenda, talking points, and schedule.
Speaking - When speaking announce yourself with your name, and title or location if it is a large call with people you haven't worked with before. And when asking a question, be sure to address the person by name to whom you are speaking.
Technology - Utilize the technology that you have at hand. Email all relevant materials in advance so that people can come to the call prepared. Agenda, visuals, market materials, research, whatever you are going to refer to in the call should be provided in advance.
Remember: This is a meeting. This is not an informal call. Be productive, be prepared and be responsive to all the other callers. Do not try to multi-task.
Be Early: As the organizer you should be the first on the bridge line, and welcome everyone to the conference call as they come on the bridge line.
